Most scenes are sketched on location before being painted. They feature the Pacific Northwest's mountains, valleys, lakes, and rivers, focusing particularly on northeastern Oregon, northern Idaho, and northwestern Montana. Mr. Hayes has spent over eight decades studying the flora and fauna of these beautiful places that inspire his creative work.

Watercolors:
Matted and shrink-wrapped, average size 16 X 20 inches average from $110-$150, though prices will vary. Matted and framed with glass (various sizes) generally run from $275-$425, depending on size and amount of work involved.
Miniature Watercolors:
Matted and shrink-wrapped, 4 X 6 inch size is generally $40-$50. Matted and framed, 4 X 6 inch size is around $65. Unmatted and unframed dollhouse size (1-1/2 X 2-1/2 inches) originals average from $25 to $35.
Oils: It is best to stop by our gallery to choose your original oil painting from our wide selection. These may be purchased framed or unframed, and prices vary. Mr. Hayes also does special orders upon request. Over 100 of his paintings have appeared on cross-cut saws. Please contact us regarding a piece you would like to order.
